Hanwei Three Monkey Katana (SH2329) |
Points: 40
|
The "Three Wise Monkeys" is a popular symbol of the "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" proverb popular in many cultures around the world. The proverb itself is thought to have originated in China and was brought to Japan by a Buddhist monk, while the association with three monkeys appears to be a Japanese play on words. Our Three Monkey Katana (SH2329) and Wakizashi (SH2330) are built on traditional Shinogi Zukuri style blades with Bo-Hi to reduce weight and improve balance. The high-carbon blade is hand forged and differentially hardened. The blackened iron Tsuba features the "Three Wise Monkeys" in relief.

Hanwei Odachi (SH2392) |
Points: 40
|
Forging and heat treating a 49" blade is a tough task but the Hanwei smiths have mastered the technique and we're excited to bring you our functional and historically accurate Odachi. The "O" means great and we're not kidding. With an overall length of 67" there's only one way to describe this sword - large! Patterned after an original from the 14th Century, when Odachi were still in use on the field of battle, this sword is a must for Japanese sword enthusiasts.

Cold Steel Sword Colichemarde (88CLMS) |
Points: 30
|
The Colichemarde emerged on the sword scene in the late 1600's during the decline of the Rapier and the rise of the small sword. Its long suit was its uniquely shaped blade that was extra wide at the forte then stepped down or narrowed for the rest of its length before ending in a wicked point. The advantage of this configuration was it allowed the sword to be used to parry or oppose even the heaviest weapons without breaking, yet remain light and supple enough to take full advantage of its lightning quick point.

Italian War Sword (501233) |
Points: 14
|
While the rapier as carried by the civilian population, many military men held it in great distain, considering it effiminate. Some took this to the degree where they had older, medieval cutting style blades mounted on more modern hilts. This sword is certainly a prime example of this practice with its wide cutting blade mounted on a slightly "S" curved quillion cross guard with simple finger ring protection. Features a rough out, leather over wood grip and wheel pommel with floral decoration. Very much a heavy cutting sword, scabbard included. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Sold Out
